Get Me Rich Quick!
I retired as physician from well before 2001. This gave me time to play with a computer and the internet. I started trading stock calls and puts. I found that a few successful trades were exhilarating. And, such successful trades made bank interest seem like a lame return. It was addicting.
Then, in 2001, I bought calls on a company that dropped in value. This company’s Value was tied to the then dot com industry. Then, the inflated evaluations of the industry and the Company, dropped like a burst bubble. And, I too, was financially deflated.
A point of note – leverage works in two directions.
Though I had significantly reduced our financial reserve, the pension income was not affected, and is adequate for frugal living.
But having more cash would be nicer. And, having time available and good health and reasonable energy, a plan for extra income was looked for. The computer and the internet were seen as reasonable tools to harness.
Here are two events of significance: early in the year 2003 I registered two company names, one for marketing soft goods and one for hard goods. Then, not till October 04, 2006, did I register – 4u2musehealth.com with SiteBuild It.
How can I explain this sluggish performance?
Do Not Bother Me With Instructions?
One explanation is that I’m past my prime and slowed. But, I submit that a second characteristic is more significant. I kept looking for the fast and easy buck. My personal foible was to lay down money, time and effort on projects without thorough assessment. Time and again I looked for, and found, promises of easy riches. There is no lack of exploiters on the internet. Old habits are hard to break.
Gambling can be costly.
The wanting to get rich quick attitude and lack of focus, and sloth, seductively, wasted my time and money.
SBI, SiteBuildIt, is a total package. And I knew it. Yet I stepped around using it. Who wants to work?
I did not want to work to make extra income. But SBI insists that you must put your nose to the grindstone. With that conditional, success is almost assured. And yet, excuses to not succeed, can be found.
Suppose someone thinks (s)he can help you improve your finances, and there to, sponsor you to a year of SBI web hosting. It could leave you under pressure to succeed. And so here are 14 counter moves to
thwart success.
Or, you might want to check one method whereby some do succeed -
is this one right for you?
